Seeds That Grow

Trust Prayer

God our Father, let our individual paths converge as one, united in faith. Help us to grow together in your love and care, and to follow the example of your Son, Jesus Christ, in our daily work and lives. Filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit, and through the intercession of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, instil in us the little ways of doing ordinary things through extraordinary love. When stones of doubt are cast upon us in burden, like a little flower rekindle our faith as children of God, filling our hearts with hope and love. Together, may we plant the seeds that one day will grow, knowing they hold future promise, enabling us to become all we are called to be. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen. Saint Thérèse of Lisieux: Pray for us.

NDCYS – The Briars Team visits Grantham.

At St. Mary’s Catholic Primary Academy, Grantham, on Thursday 8th October 2020, we were very fortunate to be visited by the Briars Team as part of NDCYS (Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Service) who led Years 4, 5 and 6 in a workshop linked to hope.

We were all encouraged to think about what it means to be hopeful, not just for the future but at the start of each day.

We listened to scripture from Jeremiah and created actions for significant words within it.

‘I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.’ Jeremiah 29:11

Overall, it was a very thought-provoking experience for the children and adults, which everyone took a lot from. To conclude, we joined together in meditation before concluding with a prayer.

The weather brought us inside but the messages were just as clear.

‘I learnt that God is not just truth, he is life.’ Y5 child

‘I took away that if we have faith in him, he’ll bring us hope for everything we aim to do.’ Y5 child

‘We should have patience in God’s plans for the future – he will live out what he says.’ Y5 child

‘I enjoyed the meditation because it gave me time to reflect and spend time alone with God.’ Y5 child
